The first website:
My introduction to the web was @ the University of Connecticut, 12 years ago. This was the first time I was introduced to html codes. At that time, Hotmail was the best free email in town and Netscape was king. I registered my first dot com in 2000. This was right around the time when domains were cheap enough for a college student to buy.
The only place I could access the Internet was at college. I bought a computer back in 1995, but it was not connected to the Internet. That made for a boring computer. My first online company was Wright Inc. It was a newsletter I used to send updates of poetry events, entertainment, and other promotions. I worked with a promotion group at the time called Wicked Productions (still good friends with owners).
The newsletter had a sub-topic called infotainment. This newsletter gave me the opportunity to develop relationships I still maintain today. The domain I owned back then was a long and complicated one. It was Wrightinc-enterprises.com. This clearly show how my knowledge of domains has changed. Lol!
The newsletter grew and so did my mailing list. I transferred my one domain from Register dot com to Homestead dot com (good templates, emails, etc). I also started dabbling in the financial services arena. I was in flux at this time trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. The picture above was taken from archive.org and showed the years when I had my developing business in the financial services world.
Changes
In 2005, I decided to stop doing the newsletter because it was not profitable. I had the wonderful idea to register Infotainment as a domain and it was not available. I knew I wanted a dot com and not the dot net. I registered my second domain Informtainment.com. This spelling made more sense to me, Inform and Entertain. This blog was born (Resource). However, the blog would not see the light of day until 2007.
