I created a website, now what?

The online marketplace has been undergoing a drastic change.  Many new players but few who have studied and applied the strategies it will take to market their website/domain properly. Are you creating a website to earn money? Are you creating a website to provide a service? Are you the next online media? How will you sustain over a long period of time?
