To the tune of Michael Jackson's song "Gone too Soon" hundreds of people streamed past the body of boxing champ Jizelle Salandy, on view yesterday at Belgrove's Funeral Home in San Fernando.

Salandy was decked in a boxing robe bearing the national colours and a red pair of boxing gloves. The belts she won from her numerous bouts were on display close to the undefeated champion. With no sign of injuries to her face, the 21-year-old seemed to be smiling as she lay in the black casket.

Hours before the 5 p.m. viewing to members of the public, hundreds gathered outside the Coffee Street, San Fernando, funeral home waiting to catch a glimpse of the star.
