Joanne Stephen is an educator with the New York City Department of Education who currently resides in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn. A mother of two, Ms. Stephen has been drawing and writing poetry for the past fifteen years. She feels that the gift she has received from God has to be put to good use and reach out to others. She says that the inspiration also comes from everyday life. Through My Eyes is filled with a wide variety of poetry ranging from passion, ecstacy, urban life,sex and pain.

I like to see sistas doing positive things. I met with her in person and not only is she genuinely beautiful inside and out but she is quite intellectual. This sista is on the right track!
