The Alternative Concept, an annual concert featuring Soca superstar Machel Montano has become one the highlights of the Trinidad & Tobago Carnival season. Throughout the few years of the concert’s existence, many eager Soca enthusiasts have borne witness to several unexpected and unrepeatable feats as well as numerous surprise appearances and collaborations.

Now in its 7th year, AC7 certainly lived up to the standard set by the previous 6 editions and thanks to the hard working staff at Xtatik Ltd aka The HD Family, the DancehallSoca.com team was there to capture the event in its glory.
As we entered, we were treated to the sounds of the evening’s first attraction, the Chutney crossover band Karma. Singing numerous Soca and Chutney favourites, the lead vocalists Ravi B, Nisha B and Any Singh set the musical pace for what would be an eventful and entertaining evening. Read More
