CROP-OVER 2009 will not be the same; but officials are still expecting it to be sweet fuh days.
Minister of Community Development and Culture Steve Blackett announced a number of changes yesterday for the 35th staging of the cultural festival.
Chief among those changes is the removal of the Party Monarch Finals from the Calypso Bowl to Farley Hill Park.
Blackett said the competition was moved on the recommendation of the Ministry of the Environment.
"We have realised that the number of severe chasms . . . in the hills at East Coast. The severe degradation [is] threatening the integrity of the soil structure. In the interest of public safety we've decided to shift that event to Farley Hill." READ MORE
